Speaking with Japanese weekly Famitsu, have said they would consider developing III exclusively for one platform, if a platform holder was willing to help fund a third title in the cult-hit series.

Sega know that fans want to see a new title emerge, but are apparently mindful of the fact that previous games didn't sell well - that said they seem keen to get a new game made, regardless.

This, perhaps, is why an exclusivity deal is being discussed, one of the giants paying for the game in exchange for exclusivity.

Yu Suzuki's popular was hugely expensive for its time, earning releases on the Dreamcast and Xbox. A Shenmue Online was also mooted more recently, but details have been scant to non-existent.
