Game Room separate, but equal

The classic arcade games to be featured in Microsoft's Game Room may be equal to those already available on Xbox Live Arcade, but that isn't stopping the company for charging separate fees to play both.
Reporting by GameInformer illuminates Microsoft's decision to charge for Game Room arcade titles even if you're already bought the same title on Xbox Live Arcade.
According to an unnamed Microsoft spokesperson, the games showcased on Xbox Live Arcade are revamped for HD play, whereas those featured in Game Room are ported originals.
How that justifies charging gamers twice for the same game remains unclear. While the cost of these games is cheaper within Game Room than on Xbox Live Arcade, you're still asked to shell out extra if you want to play within Game Room.
