Levine talks of Irrational's scrapped zombie game
Undead rattle at Ken Levine's floorboards
Ken Levine, head of the newly resurrected Irrational Games studio in Boston, has spoken about some of their potential projects that never quite made it.
One such project was a zombie FPS dubbed Division 9. This was a game that followed an expanded version of the Left 4 Dead formula, before it appeared on the scene.
"The reason we were frustrated with zombie games at the time was they never had the sense that you got for Dawn of the Dead, because there was really only Resident Evil at that time," Levine told Game Informer.
Division 9 was built around the SWAT formula but with the addition of infinite zombies and was on the cusp of a publishing deal with Vivendi when Take-Two bought Irrational and turned it into 2K Boston. It subsequently slipped through the cracks.
