Namco patents Wii drumsticks
We've hit it on the head
Siliconera has the beat on a Namco Bandai patent for a Wii drumstick peripheral that hints at the development of a drumming game for Nintendo's console.
Drum games aren't a foreign concept to the Japanese publisher. Taiko Drum Master, which was released for PS2, involved keeping rhythm on a plastic drum head. This patent, however, is entirely different. Instead of a pair of plastic sticks and a drum accessory that plugs into your Wii, you actually slip two Wii Remotes into the drumstick casings.
According to Siliconera's reporting, twisting the sticks allows you to change the sound to various types of percussion. Tilt left for a snare drum or down for a tom tom.
Obviously a patent doesn't confirm a game's existence, but we'll let you know if it does.
