Kotaku coaxed a bitter response from regarding future collaborations with western developers in an interview done at the tail-end of last year.

President Haruhiro Tsujimoto admitted that Capcom would not outsource the of new games to studios outside of moving forward following a string of underwhelming releases.

"Our experience with Bionic Commando has demonstrated the difficulty of outsourcing the development of new title to overseas companies."

Tsujimoto continued by affirming plans to contract foreign developers for work on existing titles, ports, and smaller games such as Dark Void Zero.

This is strikingly different from other prominent Japanese publishers such as that have not only embraced American and European development studios, but have outright expanded with western development satellites.
