DS reigning supreme in Europe
Nintendo's pocket phenomenon records huge numbers
Nintendo have proudly announced that the DS is now the top-selling console in Europe.
Across the range from the original DS through to the DS Lite and the new DSi, the console has sold a whopping 40 million units.
Not only that but Nintendo has confirmed that the DS is also the fastest-selling console in Europe, reaching this milestone in just 5 years.
Unsurprisingly, the Wii is also doing rather well, becoming the fastest-selling home console by reaching 20 million units sold since it launched in December 2006.
These figures see Nintendo in a buoyant mood despite disappointing sales in recent months and SEGA announcing that they will be dropping their attempts to produce mature titles for the Wii.
