British Iraq hostage will be returning to the soon after spending two and-a-half years in captivity, although it emerges the hostage was given a PlayStation console to help keep him sane during his final six months.

Moore, who is looking forward "to getting to know his again" after his freedom was secured, reveals that he was given a satellite television, an unconnected laptop and a PlayStation console during the final 6 months of solitude.

Moore's four bodyguards were killed while he was held hostage by a group calling themselves the Islamic Shia Resistance, but his conditions did improve near the end - as evidenced by the bizarre entertainment he was provided by his captors.

It is unclear which games Moore played, although the appearance of the original PlayStation once again shows how ubiquitous it remains; popping up in this most unlikely of scenarios. Thanks Kotaku.
