Due to the sale of Atari's European distribution wing, Hasbro's subsidiary, Wizards of the Coast has filed a suit against for breach of contract and fraud.

According to Kotaku, the trouble centres around the sale of PAL distribution from Atari to Bandai.

In the suit filed with the District Court of Rhode Island, Hasbro claim that the sale violated the terms of the Dungeons and Dragons licensing agreement by selling the European distribution arm to Hasbro's major rivals, Namco Bandai.

As a result Hasbro wish to terminate the Dungeons and Dragons licensing agreement as well as seeking compensation for any economic damages incurred.

Greg Leeds, President of Wizards of the Coast said: "While unfortunate that we had to take this action, it is crucial for us to protect the Dungeons & Dragons brand. We have been working for several months now to reach resolution with Atari, and they have left us with no other choice than to pursue action."
