Battlefield Heroes reaches 3 million

EA's free-to-play browser-based online third-person shooter blasts through the three million player mark.
EA announced with a mass fanfare today that the browser-based entry in the ever-popular Battlefield series has reached a significant milestone in terms of its player base.
To celebrate the milestone, EA released a new map to expand on the gameplay options players will have at their fingertips.
>[?Sunset Showdown is set on a sunset island and features one hilltop control point for teams to battle over. One side of the island offers wide-open spaces for flowing tank combat and the other has a leaf open forest area for the infantry to get their bayonets bloodied in.
Ben Cousins, Battlefield Heroes' general manager, elaborated on the game's growth: "Battlefield Heroes continues to grow fast with well over 50,000 new players joining us every week. Our players have already logged in over 1,300 years worth of game time and nearly 300 million kills over 150 million five-minute game rounds."
