Final Fantasy XIII finally ships in Japan
Not so final...
The sequel that J-RPG fans have all been waiting for has finally made its way to Japanese retailers.
One million PlayStation 3 copies of Final Fantasy XIII have been shipped to retailers with another 300,000 expected to ship over the first two weeks of the game's release.
North American and European J-RPG fanatics will have to wait until the Spring for the fully localised versions which will be available on a non-Sony platform for the first time since Final Fantasy IV came out on the Super Nintendo back in 1994.
This is not so for Japanese gamers, as Sony have retained exclusive rights to Square Enix's epic saga in their native land.
Final Fantasy XIII, which will hit Japanese stores this Thursday, will debut at 9240 Yen (100 USD) which is one of the highest prices ever charged for a console release.
Thanks Gamasutra.
