EA have announced that a of the sequel to their popular co-op, Army of Two, will hit PlayStation network and Live Marketplace this week

This time around Salem and Rios will find themselves fighting their way out of a rapidly self-destructing Shanghai.

EA claims that the game will feature "unparalleled immersive co-operative gameplay" and an exceptionally robust weapon customisation system that allow mixing and matching of components found all through the game.

The weapon customisation system forms part of The 40th Day's strategic co-operative gameplay that are touted as a "one-of-a-kind" experience.

The game's executive producer, Reid Schneider, said: "THE 40TH DAY is non-stop in an explosive Shanghai. The game has been designed with a focus on co-op gameplay and it has been our goal to refine this core experience in all aspects of the game. The demo will give players the opportunity to experience this evolution and the new co-op moves and tactics available to players at any time in the game."

The demo will arrive on PlayStation network for PlayStation 3 and Marketplace on December 17th with the version coming to North America on January 7th and on January 14th.
