MW2 tops 100,000 in Japan
Good start for Western titan
After Square Enix boss Yoichi Wada expressed his optimism over Modern Warfare 2's release in Japan, the executive's faith was seemingly repaid - the game selling more than 100,000 copies on on its first day.
The game launched yesterday in Japan, with Kotaku reporting a 106,000 figure based off early Japanese news.
Apparently, the game has sold 42,000 copies on the Xbox 360, and 64,000 copies on the PS3.
Of course, Modern Warfare 2 sold millions of copies during its first week out in the West, but this milestone is still significant given a history of mediocre sales for Western developed titles in Japan. More soon.
