EA Montreal executive producer Reid Schneider tells GamesIndustry.biz that the first was aimed at the wrong audience and that the sequel will deliver a much more agreeable tone.

During the interview, Schneider explains that the decision to tailor Army of Two toward gamers resulted in the game being unpalatable to everyone else. "We had this whole market in the US that thought the tone was cool, but in everyone thought it was ridiculous and tasteless and a bunch of frat guys running around."

He naturally argues that the sequel, Army of Two: The 40th Day, will make a broader appeal with its co-operative gameplay sans excessive fist-bumping. Schneider confirms the game is essentially done and undergoing last minute polishing ahead of its January release on 360, PS3, and PSP.
