Speaking in an interview to entice investors, Jun Takeuchi, Capcom's General Manager of Research and Development said that cultural differences make it tough to work with overseas developers.

The interview dealt mainly with the work that has been putting in on their forthcoming title 2.

The core elements of the game were developed in Japan, "while the and some of the language details were handled overseas," stated Takeuchi. "Cultural differences dont allow for the smooth collaboration between and developers overseas."

He also speaks of how 5's successes has influenced the direction of Lost Planet 2's especially with the new four player co-operative multiplayer.

Takeuchi adds: "The co-op system in Resident Evil 5, in which two players work together, is popular overseas because of the new and different experience it provides. To a certain degree, single player mode allows players to experience what creators intended for the game; two player co-op opens up a whole new approach to gameplay, allowing players to experience the game in ways they never thought possible."
