Valve loses Portal lead designer
Still alive
Kim Swift, who was instrumental in crafting the critically acclaimed physics puzzler Portal, has left Valve to join Dark Void developer Airtight Studios.
Swift's departure raises questions as to the state of Portal 2, which she had confirmed was in development in an appearance with X-Play back in February 2008.When Swift made the announcement, she was lead designer on the project. Now that she's moved to Airtight Studios, the question is who is responsible for level design in Portal's follow up.
In joining Airtight Studios, Swift will be developing a new game - not Dark Void - under the title of project lead. That title has yet to be announced, but we'll let you know as soon as that news breaks.
