The conjecture and teasing is at last at an end, today confirming that 2 is in the works, Isaac Clarke returning for a continuation of the hit action-horror title.

The new game promises to see the fight "taken to the Necromorphs", and Clarke will have new tools at his disposal as he meets new characters, and battles in zero-gravity environments.

No release date has been offered, although a 2010 debut seems likely, the PC, and all mooted as launch platforms.

"In Dead Space 2, not everything is exactly as it seems. Expect plot twists that will surprise you and a huge cast of twisted, disgusting monsters that are sure to scare the daylights out of you," teases producer Steve Papoutsis.
