DSi XL/LL has strong start in Japan
Sales look good after first two days
After two days of availability in Japan, the DSi LL (to be XL in the West) has already broken 100,000 in sales, hitting 103,534 to be exact. A strong start for the new, larger handheld.
CVG reports that for its release, this past Saturday, the LL brought in large crowds at several stores. The device sells for 20,000 Yen which is approximately USD 225.
Though these sales are slightly below relative sales for the DSi last year, they squash those for the PSPgo from November, which came in at around 28,000.
The system will be venturing over to the US and UK sometime in first quarter 2010 and will probably cost you a bit more than the DSi originally did.
Whether or not Western sales will match up to those in Japan is still to be seen.
