Special Wii channel for iPlayer

Out next week

Nintendo have confirmed this afternoon that the BBC's iPlayer online television player is set to get its own unique channel on the Wii console.

The new service will officially launch, in the UK, on the 18th of November at midnight, according to news today.

"The new Wii Channel is expected to be available from 00:01 on Wednesday 18th November," beams Nintendo.

"We're pleased that we've been able to work with Nintendo to evolve BBC iPlayer on the Wii, providing a faster, high quality and improved viewing experience."
