Medal of Honor opting for modern setting
Time travellin'
In an effort to cull interest syphoned away by Activision's hit Call of Duty series, EA plans on sending the next Medal of Honor game on a trip through time to a modern wartime setting.
Hot off news that EA's Medal of Honor shooter series is primed for a comeback, MCV reports that the new instalment will ditch the World War II setting in favour of the present day.
The site's unnamed source claims, "it's a new take on the modern warfare idea - and will really help give the series the kick up the arse it needs." After the lukewarm debut of Medal of Honor: Airborne versus the rabid reception of Modern Warfare 2, it's not surprising that EA would opt to take the series in a new, potentially better-selling direction.
An official announcement is expected before year's end, with a PS3, Xbox 360, and PC release tentatively slated for March 2010. We'll keep you posted.
