Yesterday evening held something of a bash exposing work so far on Mickey, Warren Spector's opus.

Using the Wii's gesture controls as part of a 'painting' game mechanic, attendees were given a glimpse of the game world, which looks bizarre and colourful, being populated with Disney characters of the past.

This world is a Cartoon Wasteland where Mickey has been dragged by Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, a long-since forgotten, and rather bitter, pre-Mickey Disney creation.

"Mickey is an adventurous and rambunctious mouse," explains designer Warren Spector, "I want to bring his personality to the forefront, place him in a daunting world and connect his spirited character with video game players worldwide.

"Ultimately, each player decides for him - or herself what makes Mickey cool."

The title is billed as a mixed with an adventure game, with elements from old school cartoons abound. Thanks VG247.
