Nintendo under pressure as profits drop
Markets wary of declining revenues
According to word in from Bloomberg this morning, Nintendo may be forced to deliver a profit warning to investors this week.
This would be the first warning from the firm in six years, and comes amid talk that income will fall 11 percent this financial year. This would represent the first drop in income since 2004.
Earnings news is due near the end of October, and this prediction comes from a survey of industry analysts, rather than from within the game maker itself.
"Nintendo may cut its profit projection about 30 percent because of sluggish sales in the first half, the price cut for the Wii and currency-related impact," explains analyst Satoru Kikuchi.
"Investors are expecting the company to fully reflect its business environment in its forecast."
