No dedicated servers for MW2 on PC
Bowling reveals new matchmaking system
Speaking in a new webcast over the weekend, Infinity Ward mouthpiece Rob Bowling has said that the matchmaking system supporting Modern Warfare 2 on the PC - called IWNet - will do away with dedicated servers.
Bowling says that IWNet will make multiplayer games much more accessible for PC players, the matchmaking system allowing players of similar rank and skill to play together.
"You're completely reliant on IWNet and there is no dedicated server or server list. You rely on IWNet for matchmaking and your games, but you still have your private matches," enthuses Bowling.
The executive goes on to state that it is unclear how user-generated content will fair as part of this new system. We'll have more soon.
