The EyePet is being unleashed on the this autumn, the new virtual pet title using the camera to give players a new way to interactive with their simian pal.

What's more, if EyePet proves a hit with the demographic are after then this could just be the start of big things - Sony clearly holding out hefty aspirations for the IP.

"For us, its the beginning. We're creating a franchise. We're hoping to really rally a lot of support and have a big success. The intention is to build something bigger than a single game," lead developer Nic Doucet told VG247 this week.

EyePet will officially launch on the 23rd of October. We'll keep you posted.
