PlanetSide Next coming from SOE?
Smedley reveals name of MMO sequel
We've already heard word that a new PlanetSide title could be in works at Sony Online Entertainment, and today we hear hints that the new MMOFPS could be called 'PlanetSide Next'.
"To me, Planetside Next means we get a chance to take the essence of everything that was fun in Planetside and make it a lot better. Massive battles on a scale no other FPS will touch. None of this 64 player stuff. REALLY MASSIVE. With much better organization, and a tight focus on making sure the action is always going on, with awesome graphics," SOE boss John Smedley writes online.
We're unclear how official this information is, but it leaves us in little doubt that some kind of new project is in the works, and it'll be continuation of the PlanetSide theme - SOE perhaps taking their inspiration from the PS3's MAG.
