Negating Australia's lack of a top 18+ age rating, Valve's title 2 has been cleared for release down-under, the game bagging a 15+ certification.

The developer had submitted a heavily edited version of the exclusive, and co fearing that the game might miss its pre-Christmas release slot while an appeal is pending.

The game now omits "decapitation, dismemberment, wound detail or piles of dead bodies" according to News.com.au.

The Australian censors have come under fire for banning a number of big game releases in recent years, with titles like 3 falling foul of very conservative rules.

More over, politicians have also rejected the opportunity to introduce an 18 certification, such is concern that 'vulnerable adults' will gain access to mature games.
