PSP Go selling well, Minis pricing under scrutiny
Big retailers see gigantic sales boost
Despite high profile retail boycotts against the digital-only handheld, the PSP Go is actually selling rather well - the format boosting PSP sales by some 300 percent according to Kotaku.
Corporate communications boss Patrick Seybold has said that top retailers have seen sales surge, while game sales over PSN have also rocketed thanks to the new console.
A "significant increase in revenue for PlayStation Network, driven by a 200 percent lift in PSP game downloads purchased from PlayStation Store" is noted, although there has been some criticism of the pricing of Minis.
Eric Lempel responds to this thusly: "As far as pricing goes, the publisher of the title sets the pricing. I think they have to carefully price their content. Minis was intended to be something a little different and we wanted to see a lot of different types of content through minis.
"If it's not priced correctly, consumers may be turned off at the proposition and say 'I'd rather just go for this kind of stuff instead of minis.'"
