Xbox Live Arcade games receive 2Gb size cap
Microsoft discuss Arcade limits
Microsoft has increased the size for XBLA titles once again, pushing the max limit to 2Gb. According to Fudzilla, the current file Live structure will not support a higher cap beyond 2Gb, so this is likely the final adjustment by Microsoft.
However, Microsoft is convinced the new cap is more than enough for developers to flex their creativity; Epic Games' recent hit platformer Shadow Complex was 835MB, less than half of the new limit.
With developers having a broader playground, Microsoft is also hinting at a bigger hard drive. Just this month, they announced an exclusive Modern Warfare 2 Limited Edition 250Gb Xbox 360 but stated there are currently no plans to sell the 250Gb hard drive separately; now inside sources suggest the company might actually announce a larger hard drive in 2010.
No word yet on how large the new hard drives might be, though. The current highest sits at 120Gb, excluding the Modern Warfare 2 unit.
