Speaking with Reuters, chief Yoichi Wada has said that XIII is expected to sell in excess of six million copies worldwide.

The latest instalment in the hugely popular franchise, Wada-san believes the (and in some places 360) title can go one stage further than Dragon Quest IX (which has already sold nearly four million copies).

A release in this December is planned, with Western debuts expected next year.

In related news, rumours also surface that Square Enix are on the brink of laying off 2-300 workers, the firm in the processing of reorganising after the purchase of Interactive in the UK. Thanks Kotaku.
