Details have been scant to non-existent on Rockstar's eagerly awaited cinematic thriller LA Noire, but the doors are about to be blown wide open on this title - according to word in today.

"While we have yet to announced a definitive release date, L.A. Noire is coming along quite splendidly and we're going to have details to share with you all very soon," teases the new fan Q&A.

Rockstar's opus is imbued with an appealing film noir style, and the game maker has been teasing over the project's bright future for some months without giving much away.

A 2010 release for is likely, but we're hopeful of more fleshed-out information this side of the festive season.
