Counter-Strike remains arguably the most important game ever conceived, so you'll probably be interested to know what mastermind Minh Le is up to now.

Apparently, the game designer headed for South Korea after plans for Counter-Strike 2 were shelved and began work on Tactical Intervention. The game is backed by a wealthy businessman we hear.

The game looks like an updated version of Counter-Strike, with all manner of realistic hostage scenarios on the cards.

A beta test will be live soon. "I wanted to make TI faster so people aren't waiting around as much between rounds," Minh tells IGN.

"The average round should be two minutes, maybe less, so people aren't waiting around as much."
