Sony undecided on motion controller name
Technology remains untitled at TGS
Currently imaginatively called the PS3 motion controller in most places, Sony admitted at last week's Tokyo Game Show that they still haven't decided what the new technology will be called - with a number of names under consideration.
Executive Shuhei Yoshida says that until a final name is decided upon, the controller will be referred to as the Wand Controller.
"There are several candidates for the name of the controller. The SIXAXIS and the DualShock 3 - while great product names - are based on the actual tech. The name we pick for the Wand Controller maybe won't be so techie," the exec told Kotaku.
A more casual-orientated name seems likely, given that the 'wand controller' is supposed to help lure non-traditional gamers to the PS3. More shortly.
