Hideo Kojima sees shift with Natal
Designer wants to make innovative motion title
Speaking in a Tokyo Press Conference, veteran Konami game designer Hideo Kojima has said Natal marks a paradigm shift for game design akin to "the 2D to 3D shift, or the first time that I ever played with Family Computer."
According to Gamasutra, the Metal Gear Solid creator is more than a bit taken with the new motion control technology, the designer stating "I wanted to share my surprise to everybody... but I had to restrain myself."
He believes Natal could change the way we do things, even in everyday life beyond gaming, although there is a risk that more traditional gamers will be unnerved by the lack of a physical controller.
Considering the technology, Kojima says he would like to make "a completely innovative game that nobody has thought of in the past but I have core users who are my fans, so I do not want to leave them behind."
