A few stormy showers appear to be gathering over Sony's Go launch, with only a week to go Electronics Boutique confirming that they will not stock the revised handheld SKU.

Staff at the large chain reveal that the system will not be in stock, while there's also no mention of the device on the firm's website.

A number of small and independent retailers across are also making noises of discontent about the system, publicly claiming that it isn't good value for consumers, while privately most execs are said to be riled about the digital distribution path the console is treading.

Retailers are, perhaps understandably, concerned that digital game and delivery cuts them out of the loop.

Sony Computer Entertainment Australia offer the following: "As with any new product, there will be continued discussions with retail partners to continue to expand reach over time in line with growth of the entire PSP platform."
