Second Life players pass one-billion hours
Big numbers for giant MMO
Players of giant real-world style MMO Second Life have amassed over one-billion in-game hours, as well as spending in excess of a billion of the title's in-game currency.
Apparently, in-game 'user hours' are up over 33 percent on last year, and on average a user spends about 100 minutes online per play session.
Between Q2 2008 and Q2 2009 we're told Second Life's in-game economy grew some 93 percent, which makes the scale of the economy in the game second only to World of Warcraft.
250,000 new virtual goods are created every day, with content doubling roughly every 12 months. Lastly, virtual land in Second Life now stands at 2 billion square-metres, the same size as Rhode Island according to Linden. More online shenanigans soon.
