THQ drop by today to confirm that a brand, spanking new update is on the way for smash Dawn of War II - the new pack set to be called Chaos Rising according to reports in this afternoon.

The new pack will usher in Chaos Space Marines as a new playable army for players to get to grips with, while a release in the spring of 2010 is mooted by the publisher.

New singleplayer and co-op campaigns will be delivered by developer Relic, while the level cap will rise to 30 from the previous 20 level.

"Dawn of War II took intimate brutality to another level and introduced RPG-RTS hybrid gameplay," enthuses Relic's Jonathan Dowdeswell. "The epic struggle between Space Marines and the forces of Chaos lets us take those two gameplay elements and create an even more intense experience - this time, the battle is personal."
