Eidos catch out Batman: Arkham Asylum pirate
Rumbled
One naughty player has been caught out playing a pirated version of the excellent Batman: Arkham Asylum.
The user in question apparently thought they were reporting a bug in the game, which stopped the caped crusader being able to glide, only to be told this was a copy protection measure - Batman having his virtual wings clipped if the title was illicitly copied.
"When I... jump from one platform to another, Batman tries to open his wings again and again instead of gliding," read a complaint from the player, to which an Eidos spokesperson replied: "It's not a bug in the game's code, its a bug in your moral code," who goes onto explain that the trick was put in place to "catch out people who try and download cracked versions of the game for free."
Apparently, those playing pirated copies of the game began reporting the bug prior to the game's official release. Which is something of a give away. Thanks to the BBC.
