Soldner-X 2: Final Prototype will be a exclusive, creators Easasiasoft and Sidequest Studios have today announced.

The game will be out at the close of this year, or early next year, and an old school-informed side-scrolling is the order of the day - as with past outings in the series.

The sequel will include two new ships to contend with, and there will be a special 'bullet pattern' system, which sounds ominous.

A range of themed worlds will play backdrop to the gun-blazing, and once again the focus will be on combos amid frantic fire-fights.

It is unclear why this game is a PS3 exclusive, but the developers clearly feel the new title will resonate with PlayStation players.
