London Games Conference to address industry issues
Tory Shadow Culture Minister involved
The Conservative Shadow Minister for Culture will speak alongside Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo at the London Games Conference on October 27th, we learn today, the conference set to address the major issues of the games industry at BAFTA.
No topic will be left uncovered it would seem, the industry titans getting together to look at concerns such as digital distribution, relationships with the games buying public and more.
The editor of Edge will also be present, joined by ELSPA's Andy Payne and even Atari's Phil Harrison.
"I'm delighted to be speaking to the London Games Conference. The games sector is one of the most successful creative industries in the UK, but it has been forgotten by Government. While Canada and France aggressively compete to attract games talent, all UK politicians talk about is video games violence," Shadow Minister for Culture Ed Vaizey offered.
"Yet this sector should be a dream for a politician - it recruits people qualified in difficult subjects, like maths and computer science; it's regional, with clusters all over the country; and it's successful and world-beating. Government backing for the games sector should be a no-brainer."
We'll report more on this as we get it. Thanks VG247.
