Hearthstone: Heroes Of Warcraft open beta launches next month, smartphone versions announced

That might be January in Blizzard speak

Blizzard's creative boss Rob Pardo has announced some great news for fans of their first free-to-play game Heathstone: Heroes Of Warcraft.

For the uninitiated this is a card combat game based on the world of Warcraft. It's free-to-play and is currently in closed beta. It's also the first game in a very long time that Blizzard has announced and released within a 12 month period albeit in closed beta.

Pardo jumped up on stage to announce a few new features to the game including the new special Golden Heroes cards, ranked play mode and the BlizzCon-exclusive item the Tauren Chieften Golden Card. Hearthstone: Heroes Of Warcraft open beta launches next month, smartphone versions announced

The best news is that Hearthstone: Heroes Of Warcraft will arrive in open beta next month although that could be January in Blizzard-speak.

The final revelation from Rob Pardo came in the form of the announcement that Hearthstone will launch on iPhone and Android smartphones some time in the middle of 2014.
