Alex Seropian's Wideload joins Disney
Bungie founder sells developer
Not content with buying about a squillion superhero characters by purchasing Marvel, Disney have today confirmed the acquisition of US developer Wideload Games - the studio headed by Bungie co-founder Alex Seropian.
Seropian is credited with being one of the original names behind Halo, and he will become Vice President of Creative at Disney Interactive after his firm was purchased by the media giant.
"We're really trying to be a magnet in this industry for talent, as we are in so many other parts of the entertainment world," enthused Disney gaming boss Graham Hopper.
"Having someone of Alex's caliber join us is a tribute to the great people we have here already."
Seropian will help steer the 1,200 game developers now employed by Disney.
