Bethesda to deliver future Prey games?
New filing hints at ownership change
Future titles in the Prey series could be created and released by Bethesda, parent firm ZeniMax having seemingly acquired the trademark to the game.
Human Head released the original Prey with Take-Two's help, but with the collapse of license owner 3D Realms it seems the IP may now have been sold to the aid the Duke Nukem developer's cash 'issues'.
Bethesda and ZeniMax are of course the companies behind the hit RPG Fallout 3, while the publishing giant recently raised eyebrows via the acquisition of long-time indie titan id Software.
A new USPTO filing (not to mention a revised trademark) appears to reveal that ZeniMax is indeed the new home of Prey - which raises the tantalising prospect of some kind of id involvement in future projects. We'll keep our noses to the ground for further details on this.
