PS3 sales go through the roof in the UK
Big leap with arrival of Slim
Speaking to UK blog VG247, Chart-Track executive Dorian Bloch has revealed that PS3 sales have leapt somewhere in the region of 1,000 percent following the the release of the PS3 Slim.
Apparently, demand for the cut-price console is very high, with sales leaping some 11 times higher than in the week prior to the Slim's release. In the same period of time, the Xbox 360 is up some 29 percent - but the PS3 dominates, selling more than all the other formats combined for the week in question.
The drop has also boosted software sales by a more modest 5 percent, leaving the PS3 second in software terms to the Xbox 360 still.
It will be interesting to see how this hardware tussle develops as we move towards the key festive season.
