EA have reportedly launched a court case against the relatives of 1930's gangster John Dillinger, demanding they be allowed to use the convicted bank robber's name on a variety of the weapons in their Godfather games.

Apparently, the first Godfather game from included the Dillinger Tommy Gun, while that title's sequel also boasted the Modern Dillinger.

GamePolitics report that Dillinger LLC has the trademark to the gangster's likeness and name - which under Indiana state law is valid for 100 years after someone's death.

Dillinger LLC contacted EA earlier in the summer, accusing the publisher of infringing their trademarks, and demanding millions of dollars in compensation.

EA have launched this counter-suit in an apparent to attempt to free up the name for ongoing and future use.
