Sony exec 'relieved' by PS3 price drop
Big cut will boost game sales, too
Speaking to industry site GI.biz, Worldwide Studios big wig Shuhei Yoshida has said that he is relieved by the PS3's recent price drop, hinting that the move will make it much easier to shift the company's other wares.
"We're so excited about the products we're working on for release this year, but if there was one thing that could have prevented the success of our titles we felt that would be the price point - so we're relieved to see it finally happen," beamed the big cheese this week.
"Games like MAG, or those hardcore games, we have no concerns over. But games like EyePet, or Heavy Rain, or ModNation Racers - they're targeted to grow the audience, and it's crucial to make the hardware more approachable to those consumers."
Yoshida believes that general improvement in economic optimism will also help improve the console's fortunes.
