PS3 sales plummet in Japan
Ahead of Slim release, silly
With Sony having announced the PS3 Slim's imminent arrival, that latest hardware chart from Japan sees sales of the old-school system fall through the floor, in anticipation of the new arrival no dout.
For the week ending August 23rd, PS3 sales were bottom of the list, the console managing just over 2,000 units. Of course, once the new Slim lands we're expecting the console to battle it out at the top of the same chart.
Leader for the week was the DSi, with sales just shy of 60,000 units. The PSP was second was just over 27,000 units.
Third was Wii console, with sales of just a few hundred units less. The Xbox 360, meanwhile, was fourth with a little under 9,000 sales. The DS Lite fifth, with sales below 6,000 consoles - followed by the PS2 on over 3,000, then the aforementioned PS3.
