PS3 set for last big update of the year
PSN boss talks improvements
The version 3.0 firmware for the PlayStation 3, due out soon, will be the last big update of the year for Sony's sexy breadbin - according to PSN big wig Eric Lempel.
The executive said that while this release will be the last biggie of the year, that there will be other smaller updates, as Sony have a few smaller 'things' up their collective sleeve.
"We do want to continue to evolve the PS3, continue to go along our roadmap, but also listen to what the users are saying and making the necessary enhancements to make their experience better," Lempel explained, suggesting that Sony will try to bundle updates into larger firmware packs.
The XMB will once again be a focus, although Sony are promising innumerable enhancements with this update.
