Speculation abound today as it was hinted that may introduce a propriety media format for games, in a bid to cut levels. Such rumours were incited by a recent job ad posted by Microsoft.

The advertisement states that the team are seeking an engineer "to manage the design and of the Xbox Game Disc for the next generation Xbox console", and emphasises the importance of anti-piracy to Redmond. Other hints were offered that a new format might be the way forward in the ad, too,and it is possible that Microsoft may wish to follow in Nintendo's anti-piracy footsteps which helped prevent illicit copying of titles.
