Zipper Interactive have confirmed at GamesCom that they are plotting the commencement of a beta test for exclusive massive game MAG.

The developer reveal that the test will begin one week before the Tokyo Game Show, on September 17th.

Insiders at Computer Entertainment have been testing the game for several weeks now, while invites have been sent out to some of the lucky joe publics who registered to participate in the trial.

With this official date now emerging it seems likely that some of these lucky PS3 users will soon be getting a taster of what Sony believe to be a key title for their console.

Further external testers will be added as the test progresses, we're told.
