Andrew House, SCEE boss and keynote speaker extraordinaire, has been talking up the importance of the service on the eve of GamesCom in Cologne.

Announcing a new look service, set to arrive on September 1st, House also revealed that PSN users will be getting access to the BBC's iPlayer service as part of the relaunch.

UK PSN users will also be getting voucher cards, which you'll be able to buy at big name retailers, negating the need for a credit card when shopping on the PlayStation Store.

As expected, House also lifted the lid on PAL video on-demand support, European video content set to begin this November according to the platform holder.
