Outbreak rises from Grin's ashes

Smaller game dev emerges

Swedish game makers Grin may be all but dead in the water, but the developers that formerly worked for the firm are very much back in business, Outbreak Studios rising from the ashes of the dying company.

The new outfit is made up almost entirely of ex-Grin staffers, and has been founded by Peter Bjorklund. We're told the new firm will focus on the creation of games for Xbox Live, PSN, PSP Go, iPhone and Games for Windows Live.

Smaller offerings are likely off the starting blocks, then, the twenty-five employees of Outbreak having previously worked on Terminator Salvation, Bionic Commando and Wanted: Weapons of Fate.

Meanwhile, back at Grin efforts are still underway to save the developer's central Stockholm branch, with Barcelona and Gothenburg already said to be closed.
